Maldives 2.0 is the national digital transformation programme led by the Maldives Digital Service (MDS), established to modernize public service delivery and strengthen digital government across the country. In line with its mandate, MDS is responsible for designing, coordinating, and exercising oversight over all government digital initiatives to ensure they operate within a unified, secure, and interoperable framework. Maldives 2.0 focuses on transforming how public services are delivered—making them simpler, faster, and more accessible—while ensuring consistency, accountability, and compliance across all ministries and state institutions. Through Maldives 2.0, MDS provides policy leadership, technical standards, and implementation oversight for all digital systems and platforms that form the national digital ecosystem. This includes governance of shared digital infrastructure, data exchange, digital identity, cybersecurity, and service design, ensuring that all digital initiatives contribute to a connected, citizen‑centric, and future‑ready government.
